Role Description

We have an immediate need to add a valued member to our research and development team at Modularity Space working on the next generation of sustainable satellite systems in collaboration with NASA. 

 

We are currently seeking an experienced, proficient Embedded Systems/Electrical Engineer to lead the design and implementation of state-of-the-art embedded electronics to create critical electrical interfaces, data communications, and power systems for Modularity Space's orbital platforms. The ideal candidate will have industry experience, will be capable of designing new space systems, and will be ready to take on new and interesting challenges daily in a fast-paced startup environment. A positive, team-oriented, and proactive attitude is essential.

 

Job Description

  • Design low-level electric components for power distribution and data transfer interfaces

  • Xilinx FPGA design, simulation, synthesis and debugging

  • Analog, power, and embedded board level design, development and debug

  • Generate schematics and layout complex printed circuit board designs

  • Verify and Validate embedded system performance

  • Operate as part of a larger design team with aerospace, structural, and mechanical engineers

  • Provide accurate estimates of electronic project resource requirements

  • Work closely with our management team to ensure projects are performed on time, on budget, and at the highest level of quality

 

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 3 years industry experience or candidates with a Masters or Doctorate degree

  • Experience in high-reliability systems, preferably aerospace electronic system design

  • Experience with designing FPGA and PC104 based systems

  • Experience with firmware and embedded development

  • Experience with embedded system simulation and modeling

  • Experience with circuitry modeling, design, and implementation

  • Desirable: Experience with FPGAs, Systems on System on Chip (SoC)

  • Desirable: Experience with printed circuit board (PCB) design and fabrication

  • Desirable: Experience programming in VHDL, C/C++, and Rust
