Role Description

Modularity Space is looking for an experienced Spacecraft Systems Engineer to join our team. As a System Engineer, you will be working in a highly collaborative team environment with frequent customer engagement, new business development opportunities, space system concept design, mission formulation, system requirements analysis, and low-level detailed design.

The ideal candidate will have industry experience, will be capable of leading space system design, analysis, and operations, and will be ready to take on new and interesting challenges daily in a fast-paced startup environment. A positive, team-oriented, and proactive attitude is essential.

 

Qualifications:

  • Experience with all phases of the program life-cycle from business development and mission formulation, to integration, testing, and on-orbit operations

  • Space system design experience balancing performance requirements, emerging technologies, and costs.

  • Experience performing and documenting trade studies and parametric analyses

  • Allocate resources to driving requirements and key trades for both cost and technical evaluations

  • Strong communication skills and good team work, team-oriented

  • Experience in balancing software and hardware development projects for full soltion development

  • Experience working closely with customers to assist in mission refinement and provide innovative and competitive solutions to achieve their needs

  • Ability to execute spaceflight programs to achieve technical and cost requirements

 

Required skills:

  • Minimum of 3 years relevant experience or candidates with Masters or Doctorate degrees

  • Experience as a spacecraft systems engineer or subsystem engineer

  • Strong systems engineering and technical management skills with demonstrated ability to grow new business opportunities and execute innovative flight programs

  • Ability to work autonomously and to take full ownership of responsibilities and tasks

  • Highly desired: Previous experience and demonstrated skills in space system project definition, simulation, implementation, lab integration and test

  • Must be able to work in a highly collaborative, fast-paced environment with emphasis in rapid prototyping, verification and validation, and field testing
